We haven't personally tested these products

We want to be upfront about this: we do not claim to have personally tested the machines and grinders mentioned on this site. We have not written "we tested this" or "in our experience" anywhere on this site, and we never will.

How we actually put guides together

Every guide on this site is research-based. That means we work from:

• Manufacturer specifications (bar pressure, tank size, burr type, and so on)
• Retailer product listings and descriptions
• Published expert reviews from coffee and appliance publications
• Patterns across many published owner reviews

We summarise what we find in plain English, focused on what actually matters for a beginner making a decision — not marketing language.

Why trust a site that hasn't tested the gear?

Good research, done honestly and without spin, can still be genuinely useful — especially for beginners who mainly need to understand the basics (like the difference between a burr and blade grinder, or a pressurised and non-pressurised basket) before they even start comparing specific products. We see our job as explaining those basics clearly and pointing you toward what to check yourself, not pretending to be something we're not.
